The leading global bitcoin exchange OKCoin.com is rumored to be testing Ethereum for their trading platform.  OKCoin is widely known as the best place to trade bitcoin futures contracts because of the high trading volume and liquidity.  Adding Ethereum markets would introduce the new currency to a plethora of wealthy investors from the Eastern world and inevitably stir up the ether markets.

OKCoin currently offers derivative trading on Bitcoin and Litecoin, allowing users to long or short the cryptocurrencies with up to 20x leverage.  It is safe to assume that OKCoin creating a ETHUSD or ETHCNY market would lead them to creating Ether futures contracts as well.   Rival bitcoin exchange Bitfinex has already begun letting their users trade ETHUSD and ETHBTC with 3.33x leverage, it would make sense that OKCoin would want to add Ethereum futures markets as well.  The high demand for Ether tokens during TheDAO (decentralized autonomous organization) crowdfund as made it clear that Ethereum is here to stay.

Rumors of OKCoin adding Ethereum originated in these Reddit Threads

5/16/2016:  OKCoin :)
4/16/2016:  OKCoin rumored to be testing Ethereum:

“Sources: http://8btc.com/thread-31972-1-2.html (use google translate)

There might be a possible leak about internal ETH trading tests being conducted at OKCoin. On the OKCoin.cn website, there are currently two active valid pages(www.okcoin.cn/trade/btc.do and www.okcoin.cn/trade/ltc.do). If someone attempts to go to https://www.okcoin.cn/trade/anything.do (replace “anything” with literally ANYTHING), the URL would return a 404 not found error as expected. However when eth.do is entered (as in https://www.okcoin.cn/trade/eth.do) the page immediately redirects to the btc.do page.

This could be early signs that OKCoin is testing out an internal ETH trading engine prior to adding ETH. The 8BTC thread listed above does show a screencap possibly from before when the eth.do page is set to redirecting, but there is no way to verify the legitimacy of the screenshot.”
